“Getaway to Grow” Packages!
Big Sky, Montana, April 2007 … According to the Travel Industry Association of America, more than 30 million adult travelers took an educational trip to learn or improve a personal skill, sport or hobby during the past three years.*
In recognition of this trend, Big Sky’s River Rock Lodge and its sister lodging company, Resort Property Management of Big Sky, announce the new “Getaway to Grow” packages.
River Rock is a charming Montana-style lodge situated within the quaint Meadow Village in Big Sky, at the foot of famed Lone Peak Mountain. River Rock’s relaxed setting is absolute inspiration for a mind-expanding getaway. The majestic beauty of Big Sky, the azure skies, and the abundant outdoor and recreational activities in every season offer countless opportunities to pause, learn a new skill, rediscover the importance of relaxation, or reconnect with the curious child within.
The Getaway to Grow package includes three nights of lodging accommodations at River Rock Lodge, with a hearty continental breakfast each morning. For roomier accommodations, guests can select their own “getaway to grow” vacation home from 125 beautifully appointed properties, located in Big Sky’s Meadow Village or up on Lone Peak Mountain. The vacation homes are available through Resort Property Management, the sister company of River Rock Lodge (four night minimum stay, breakfast not included in the homes).
The Getaway to Grow package features a choice of a Wildlife Safari in the wilds of Yellowstone, which is nearby, or a Yellowstone Excursion to all the famed thermal sites and more. Both Yellowstone adventures include a trained guide. Or, if guests prefer, they can hone their fishing skills with two days of fly fishing instruction and fishing on Blue Ribbon steams – some of the world’s best — with noted outfitter and guide, Brian Kimmel (outfitter no. 6398).
The Getaway to Grow package is priced from $345 per person for the Wildlife Safari and Yellowstone Excursion packages, and from $635 per person for Fly Fishing with Brian Kimmel. Prices are based on double occupancy at River Rock Lodge.
Vacation home accommodations through Resort Property Management with the Wildlife Safari and Yellowstone Excursions are from $685 per person; fly fishing from $975 per person. Pricing is based on double occupancy (guide gratuity extra).

Wildlife Safari!
Yes, you can take a safari in America! Safari for an entire afternoon and evening through Dunraven Pass, the Lamar Valley, and the wilds of Yellowstone, stalking your prey as you go … with cameras, of course. Professional safari guides take guests on a journey through the wildest parts of Yellowstone where guests can expect to see and learn about a wide range of wildlife — bears, pronghorn, elk, bison, moose, mule deer, coyotes, wolves, bighorn sheep and mountain goats! Beautiful scenery and abundant wildlife will make this trip as memorable as it is inspirational. Guides have a spotting scope available so that guests can get a look at some of the more distant wildlife as well. It’s even possible to catch a glimpse or more of Yellowstone’s famed and fierce grizzlies.
The Wildlife Safari package in Yellowstone includes an afternoon & evening tour through breathtaking Yellowstone. The safari is guided by the highly experienced Yellowstone Tour Guides of Big Sky and available May 1 through July 30.
Yellowstone Excursion includes Bubbling Paint Pots, Old Faithful!
For those who would like to discover the famous sites of Yellowstone, the Getaway to Grow package offers the Wildlife Excursions. Included is an afternoon and evening tour visiting Yellowstone’s most famous thermal features: the Fountain Paint Pots and the renowned and yes ever faithful geyser Old Faithful. Another treat is a visit to the historic and recently restored Old Faithful Inn.
Then it’s on to Firehole Canyon and Falls, Firehole Lake Drive, and other geyser basins. The excursion may even offer the opportunity to catch a geyser taller than Old Faithful.
Members of Yellowstone’s famed wildlife are known to make an appearance too, including elk, bison, black bears, grizzly bears, moose and wolves. The Yellowstone Excursion package is available May 28 through October 15.
